Public Relations Strategy
Earned media is my specialty and it is content that other parties allow on media sites that create awareness of your brand. Earned media is just one part of public relations strategy as a whole. Because there’s so much static in the media universe and advertising can’t always cut through the noise that consumers face, I believe earned media will continue to play a greater role in the mix. The way earned media works is that I create press releases, social media posts, blogs, and other pieces of content that successfully get “picked up” by a global audience of journalists and influencers. To successfully generate buzz and attain this type of “free” media coverage, I have to consistently and strategically pursue opportunities with media sources and influencers by “pitching” story ideas to them. The end result is media coverage in news outlets, social media mentions, influencer shoutouts, podcast appearances and customer reviews on Google My Business, Facebook, Yelp and other platforms.
